Brewster Cape Cod
The town of Brewster is located on the Bay side of Cape Cod. Although it is not part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the town has taken steps to preserve its natural resources, with approximately one third of the town under conservation. Brewster is home to seven bayside beaches, as well as two public freshwater beaches at Long Pond and Sheep Pond. It is also home to the 1900-acre Nickerson State Park, which offers camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming in fresh-water kettle ponds, and miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails.

In addition to the unique antique shops and art galleries, the town has several small museums and historic structures open to the public, including the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, and the Stony Brook Grist Mill, built in 1751 and still grinding corn on weekends. If you enjoy golf, you may want to visit Captain’s Golf Course, likely the best public golfing on the Cape, with two 18-hole championship golf courses. Gardeners will enjoy a visit to Great Cape Herbs, an organic herb farm which also houses an herbal apothecary and an internet cafe. There are adequate places to eat in Brewster, and plenty of places to stay, including inns, bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals, and even a resort. Brewster’s location at the crook of the arm of the peninsula makes it an ideal spot for exploring both the Outer and Mid Cape areas, and the lack of commercialism geared towards tourists that has invaded many parts of the Cape is a breath of fresh air.
